Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Goethe is a German writer and statesman, whose name passed on to the posterity for his The Sorrows of Young Werther and The Tragedy of Faust. He joined Amalia Lodge in 1780 at the age of 30. He often alluded to the theme of universal brotherhood in his writings. Legend has it, that on his death bed he said "mehr Licht, mehr Licht!" (more light, more light!) in German.
